About St Bede’s

St Bede’s looks out on open farmland and enjoys a rural aspect and tranquil setting. There is ready access to the countryside and wildlife is encouraged. There are rabbits and deer to be seen and we have even had a family of ducks residing in the school pond. St Bede’s is a maintained school (which means that we are largely funded by the state and do not charge fees) and we are supported in what we do by the Diocese of Guildford and Surrey Local Authority. The school gains enormous benefit from its secondary and middle school origins. We have a large and well equipped gymnasium as well as a hall and extensive playing fields. There are useful hard play areas with permanent play equipment.

There has been a school on the site at Send for over 70 years – here is a link to our History. There are also pages dedicated to our excellent and hard working Governors and to the Parent Teacher Association who work tirelessly to raise funds to support various projects to improve the school environment.

St Bede’s is part of the East Guildford Confederation.
